Twelve clips in, a thirty-second reel out — shot order, pacing and length chosen against what you actually said on camera.
Transcript surgery
“Cut the part where I mention the old price.” It finds the words, cuts to the frame, and closes the gap.
Dead air, gone
Silences, ums and false starts removed in one pass — with the pauses that were doing work left alone.
Captions that keep time
Word-level timing from the transcript it already has, styled by instruction: “yellow, word-pop, bottom third.”

06Questions
Before you ask.
Does it generate video?
No. edie edits the footage you shot. The agent writes operations onto your timeline — trim, split, caption, reframe — and never produces a frame that was not in your camera roll.
Can I still edit by hand?
Always, and at the same time. The timeline and the chat bar are both on screen permanently; neither is a mode. Anything the agent does is a normal edit you can drag, retime or delete.
Will there be a watermark on the free tier?
No. There is no watermark on any tier, at any resolution, ever. It is not a growth lever we are willing to use.
Does my footage get uploaded?
Your video files stay on your device. Transcription and scene detection run on the phone. When you ask the agent for something, what goes to the server is a description of your timeline and transcript — not the media.
When does it launch, and on what?
iOS first, with a TestFlight beta for the waitlist. Android follows: the interface carries over, but the editing engine is native per platform and has to be rebuilt.
What happens when I run out of agent messages?
The editor keeps working exactly as it did. Only the agent pauses until the month turns over or you upgrade — the app you were using does not become a paywall.
